Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q3 i3 Country differences in 0-1 number line estimation accuracy were large (partial eta² = .20), with Chinese mean PAE = 6%, Belgian 7%, U.S. 16%. → Torbeyns 2015
q3 i2 8th graders estimated more accurately than 6th graders (PAE 7% vs 12%, partial eta² = .06). → Torbeyns 2015

A 3 (Country) × 2 (Grade) ANOVA on percentage absolute error in the 187-student cross-cultural study showed a large main effect of Country with printed effect size partial eta² = .20; Belgian accuracy (mean PAE = 7%) was as high as Chinese and much higher than U.S.
"Belgian, Chinese, and U.S. students’ estimation accuracy differed, F(2, 186) = 22.67, p < .01, partial eta² = .20. Chinese students were much more accurate than U.S. students, mean PAE = 6% and 16%."

- Fraction magnitude understanding, measured by number line estimation, predicts general mathematics achievement beyond fraction arithmetic skill in 5 of 6 Belgian, Chinese and U.S. grade samples, though not among Chinese 8th graders — related
