Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q3 i3 L2 motivation improved in both groups over 10 weeks, but the improvement significantly differed between groups, favoring AI-mediated instruction (Group × Time η2 = 0.11). → Wei L 2023

Mixed-design ANOVA on a 16-item L2 motivation scale (α = 0.82) administered pre and post to both groups. Post-test means were Experimental M = 3.89 (SD = 1.8) versus Control M = 3.35 (SD = 1.5); the Group main effect was also significant (η2 = 0.18 in Table 2).

"Nonetheless, there was a significant interaction effect between Group and Time [F(1, 58) = 7.43, p = 0.04, η2 = 0.11], indicating that that the improvement in L2 motivation significantly differed between the experimental and control groups due to the AI-mediated instruction."
