Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q3 i? Significantly more unsolicited hints were given per student in the Assertions condition than in Messages, a difference the article attributes to system design. → Mehak Maniktala 2020

Same 100-student tutor study; the ART ANOVA on unsolicited hints given showed a main effect of Condition (F(1,100) = 40.26, p < 0.001). Table 1 reports means of 48.82 (Assertions) vs 32.74 (Messages). The article notes the difference was expected "because of the system design" since Assertions were delivered after about 40% of steps; no effect size is printed.
"For the #Given metric, we found a significant main effect of Condition (F(1,100) = 40.26, p < 0.001). While we expected this result because of the system design, we will discuss this further in the next section."
