q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q3 i2 Children randomized to Building Blocks Software outperformed the Earobics comparison group on posttest numeracy (REMA), with an effect size of 0.43. → Foster 2016

Randomized control trial of 243 kindergartners randomized within classroom to Building Blocks or Earobics CAI (90 minutes weekly for 21 weeks). Multilevel ANCOVA showed "The Building Blocks Software group outperformed the comparison group" with a least squared means difference of 1.85 and effect size 0.43.

"For numeracy scores at posttest, there was a main effect for group, F(1, 178) = 8.08, p < .01, after accounting for numeracy scores from pretest and classroom nesting. The Building Blocks Software group outperformed the comparison group, with a difference in least squared means of 1.85 raw score units."
