This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q2 i? Ability to do the cancellation test has no relation to the abilities shown in the other tests, and in some tests appears to show an inverse relation. → Pyle 1917

The author's interpretation of the comparison tables, in which the Kennett table shows the good group 12 per cent worse on the ink-blot-adjacent cancellation column. He reports the cancellation test "has no relation to the abilities shown in the other tests" and possibly an inverse relation.
"Ability to do the cancellation test has no relation to the abili- ties shown in the other tests. Several other recent experi- ments of the writer sustain this conclusion. In some tests it seems to show an inverse relation to the other tests."
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- Practice in writing code produced practically no transfer to digit-letter substitution: the practiced group gained 12%, two percent less than the unpracticed control group. — related
- Ink-blot test results show a negative relation to the other tests and are related to age — related
- Completion, word-building, logical memory and controlled association tests are most valuable for separating dull from bright pupils — related
