q2 i? Correlations among speech perception and language outcome measures at two years post-CI were all positive, with some reaching statistical significance even with small samples. → Derek M. Houston 2012

Correlations among outcome measures (GAEL-P, PSI, LNT, PPVT) at two years post-CI, displayed in Table 3. Correlations were all positive with some reaching statistical significance, consistent with other findings that language abilities are highly interrelated in children with CIs.
"As can be seen, correlations among the outcome measures were all in the positive direction with some of them reaching statistical significance even with small sample sizes."
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- Behavioral inhibition (dCPT) performance is strongly and significantly correlated with vocabulary and receptive language outcomes in prelingually deaf children with cochlear implants — related
- Sustained visual attention (vCPT) performance shows no significant relations with speech or language outcomes in deaf children with cochlear implants — related
- Word-learning performance correlates with later vocabulary size in children with cochlear implants — a narrower finding that bears on this claim
- Behavioral inhibition skills of prelingually deaf children are related to several audiological outcome measures after cochlear implantation — related
- Relations between behavioral inhibition (dCPT) and expressive language and speech intelligibility were significant only at 1 year post implantation — related
