q2 i? In a cluster randomized trial of fifth-grade classrooms, the Odyssey® Math group outscored the Odyssey® Language Arts comparison group on the PSSA math scale, but WWC-computed calculations found the difference not statistically significant. → dileo-1

Cluster randomized controlled trial in 11 fifth-grade classrooms (207 students) in Pennsylvania; Odyssey® Math supplemented Houghton Miffllin Mathematics versus Odyssey® Language Arts comparison. WWC computed a p-value of .15 for the PSSA and characterized the finding as a substantively important positive effect.
"The author did not report the statistical significance of this finding, but the WWC-computed calculations (adjusted for classroom-level clustering) indicated that the results were not statistically significant."
