Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q2 i? In 3002 whole-blood samples, methylation at 33 CpGs (57%) was associated with levels of one or more cis transcripts (P < 1.1 × 10−4, Bonferroni for 463 tests; 58 significant associations total). → Jenny van Dongen et al 2018

Cis ( < 100 kb) methylation–expression analysis using 3002 whole-blood samples from the BIOS consortium with matched DNA methylation and RNA-seq. Confirmed methylation–expression relationships for AHRR, RARA, GPR15, MYO1G, ANPEP, ATP9A and SOCS3; cg05575921 and AHRR transcript level correlated negatively (beta = −4.5, p = 1.03 × 10−81).

"At 33 CpGs (57%), methylation level was associated (P < 1.1 × 10−4, Bonferroni correction for 463 tests) with the levels of one or multiple transcripts"
