Subclaims¶
Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q3 i1 Intervention-group students took significantly more in-school steps than control-group students, with a moderate difference (ES = 0.49). → Mahar 2006

Quasi-experimental comparison of in-school physical activity among 243 students; intervention students (N = 135) received Energizers while controls (N = 108) did not. An independent groups t-test showed intervention students "took significantly (P < 0.05) more in-school steps" with a moderate ES = 0.49.
"Students in the intervention group took significantly (P < 0.05) more in-school steps (5587 ± 1633) than control-group students (4805 ± 1543), and the size of this difference was moderate (ES = 0.49)."

Learner Variables¶
- Physical Well-Being — outcome: instruction changes it
Related Claims¶
- Systematic implementation of Energizers improves on-task behavior during academic instruction in third- and fourth-grade students — related
- The least on-task students show the largest improvement after Energizers activities, improving on-task behavior by 20% — related
- Classroom physical activity increases children's on-task behaviour, with no consistent gain on attention or other cognitive tests — related
- Classroom energizers improved on-task behaviour, but PA during a classroom task showed no improvement — related
