Exploratory correlational analysis linking English receptive vocabulary (PPVT III) to posttest reading measures. The authors note that although the comprehension correlation was expected, "a significant relationship between students’ oral vocabulary levels and word reading skills" was noteworthy.
"In addition, significant correlations were detected between students’ English PPVT standard scores and their scores on the WJ III Letter-Word Identification (r = .35; p < .05) and Passage Comprehension subtests (r = .56; p < .01)."
