Systemwide observational comparison of the 2017 and 2018 entering CSU cohorts (58,758 and 59,790 students) using Chancellor's Office course-enrollment data. The report states Category III students "earned, on average, 4.4 more units" than 2017 'not college ready' students, attributing this to elimination of noncredit developmental courses.
"In contrast, students in categories III and IV for QR placement attempted and earned , on average, more credits in 2018 than students who were classified as “ not college ready ” in 2017. Students in Category III for QR earned, on average, 4.4 more units (or more than one class) than those in the “ not college ready ” category in the 2017 cohort."
