q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q3 i3 Self-reported knowledge about genAI correlates positively with critical use of genAI (r = 0.55). → Markus H. Hefter 2026
q3 i2 Objective (performance-based) knowledge about genAI correlates positively with critical use of genAI (r = 0.31). → Markus H. Hefter 2026

Correlational study of N = 67 undergraduate psychology students using a self-report knowledge scale (18 SNAIL items, α = 0.90) and a 12-item performance knowledge test. The study reports a “significant positive correlation between subjective knowledge about genAI and critical use of genAI, r = 0.55” and r = 0.31 for objective knowledge.
"Correlation analyses revealed a significant positive correlation between subjective knowledge about genAI and critical use of genAI, r = 0.55, p < 0.001. Furthermore, we found a significant positive correlation between objective knowledge about genAI and critical use of genAI, r = 0.31, p = 0.011."
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- Students’ actual genAI use correlates with interest and perceived usefulness of genAI but not with knowledge or critical-thinking dispositions — related
- Epistemic orientation and intellectual values jointly predict students’ critical use of genAI, accounting for about one-third of its variance — related
- Need for cognition correlates positively with critical genAI use and negatively with perceived usefulness of genAI — related
- Prior Knowledge Needed For Accurate Self Assessment — related
