Subclaims¶
Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q3 i? A significantly higher proportion of the high flexibility group (69.2%) than the low flexibility group (44.4%) identified the correct rule. → Feng X 2020

Rule-identification questionnaire results from the coin-searching experiment with 39 high and 37 low flexibility participants. The high group's rule discovery rate was "significantly higher than that in low flexibility group" (χ2 = 10.3, df = 1, p = 0.001).
"27 out of 39 (69.2%) participants in the high flexibility group and 12 out of 37 (44.4%) participants in the low flexibility group identified the correct rule ( Figure 4 ). Pearson Chi-square test showed that the number of rule discoverers in the high group was significantly higher than that in low flexibility group [ χ2 = 10.3, df = 1, p = 0.001]."
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- High cognitive flexibility learners show significantly higher accuracy than low flexibility learners only after rule acquisition in probabilistic rule learning — related
- After rule learning, low flexibility learners show latency differences across probability conditions while high flexibility learners do not — related
- High and low flexibility learners reach rule acquisition at similar points, so flexibility does not speed rule acquisition in this task — related
- Rule learners report higher confidence in their described rules than non-learners, but confidence does not differ within flexibility groups — related
