Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q2 i? In 17 of 20 reviewed studies the decision or responsibility for the realization of the blend was made by the instructor, with learner control limited to time- and place-independent activities. → Boelens 2017

Boelens, R., De Wever, B., & Voet, M. (2017). Four key challenges to the design of blended learning: A systematic literature review. Educational Research Review, 22, 1-18. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.edurev.2017.06.001

q2 · i? · review · r2

Systematic review of 20 blended learning design studies coded by two coders. The results section reports that in most studies the instructor decided the blend, and that "flexibility or learner control was thus limited to time- and place-independent activities." Only three studies gave learners control over the realization of the blend.

"Third, in most of the selected studies, the decision or responsibility for the realization of the blend was made by the instructor (n=17)."
