q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q2 i? Significant correlations exist between adult immigrants' perspectives of learning formats, self-directed learning and motivation, English skills acquisition and integration. → Covington 2025
Evidence¶
Covington 2025¶
Covington, K. C. D. (2025). Examining the learner perspective in US immigrant adults: Socioeconomic status and the mission to successfully integrate. International Journal of Higher Education Pedagogies, 6(4), 1-17. doi:10.33422/ijhep.v6i4.1084 (an earlier version of the same study is the 2024 doctoral-study report, ERIC ED660747, https://eric.ed.gov/?id=ED660747)
q2 · i? · associational · r?
Correlational study using four self-report questionnaires with a quantitative sample (n = 107); the 2024 ERIC record states that "Significant correlations were found to exist" among the studied variables. The ERIC record prints no coefficients; the 2025 journal abstract reports r = 0.801 between two of the measures (TOT and IPL) and R² = 0.728 for a multiple regression predicting integration. These are correlations among self-report measures in one sample, so they cannot show that learning-format perspectives cause integration.
"Significant correlations were found to exist between adult immigrants’ perspectives of learning formats, self-directed learning and motivation, English skills acquisitioning and integration."
