Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q3 i3 Intrinsic life aspirations correlate moderately with mastery approach goals (r = 0.40) and extrinsic aspirations with performance approach goals (r = 0.31). → Janke 2024
q3 i? Extrinsic aspirations show no statistically significant association with mastery approach goals (r = -0.02), and intrinsic aspirations show no relevant association with performance approach goals (r = 0.13). → Janke 2024 (2)

q3 · i3 · quant-synthesis · r?
Random-effects meta-analysis of seven studies (n = 2756) of zero-order correlations between life aspirations and achievement goals, using first measurement points. The intrinsic-aspiration/mastery-goal pooled correlation was "r = 0.40" with very high heterogeneity.
"yielded a moderate association between intrinsic life aspirations and mastery approach goals ( r = 0.40, 95% CI [0.23, 0.56], k = 7, n = 2756, Q(6) = 225.79, p < 0.001, I2 = 96.45%)"

Same meta-analytic inspection across six studies (n = 2437): extrinsic aspirations were "consistently positively linked to performance approach goals" (r = 0.31), while intrinsic-aspiration/performance-goal associations averaged r = 0.13 with a CI crossing zero. The extrinsic/mastery association was r = -0.02, not significant.
"In contrast, extrinsic aspirations were consistently positively linked to performance approach goals ( r = 0.31, 95% CI [0.15, 0.47], k = 6, n = 2437, Q(5) = 83.53, p < 0.001, I2 = 94.73%), whereas associations between intrinsic aspirations and performance approach goals were on average not of relevance (r = 0.13, 95% CI [− 0.02, 0.29], k = 6, n = 2437, Q(5) = 51.31, p < 0.001, I2 = 93.74%)."
