Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q2 i3 Toddlers with longer target P3 latencies during an auditory Oddball task demonstrate less sustained attention during free play (r[16]=−.51). → Hoyniak 2015

Correlational analysis of 20 cases (15 unique toddlers, ages 2–3) from an EEG lab visit; sustained attention coded from free-play video using the Ruff and Capozzoli system. The study found "a significant negative association between target P3 latencies and the proportion of time focused" with a printed effect size of r[16]=−.51 (p=.032).

"There was a significant negative association between target P3 latencies and the proportion of time focused during the sustained attention task (r[16]=−.51, p=.032), such that children with longer P3 latencies demonstrated less sustained attention."
