Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q3 i? Students did not describe the aspect shape more frequently at posttest, and this relation was the same for all classes. → Eveline M. Schoevers & Paul P. M. Leseman & Evelyn H. Kroesbergen 2019

Multilevel analysis of the VAA shape aspect in the three-condition quasi-experiment found no growth over time and no condition effect (χ2(94) = 94.96, p = 0.45). The authors attribute this to shapes playing a smaller role in the lesson series.
"Regarding the aspect of shape used in the V AA, no linear relationship with time was found (t(4206) = 0.39, p = 0.70), indicating that students, on average, did not describe this aspect more frequently in the V AA posttest compared with the V AA pretest."
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- Students who received the MACE lesson series improved more than comparison students in describing the geometrical aspects space, space suggestion, and composition in a visual artwork — related
- Students' ability to understand and explain geometric phenomena improved in all conditions, with no difference between MACE and regular geometry lessons — related
- Teacher participation in the MACE professional development program added no measurable effect on any student outcome — a broader claim this one bears on
