Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q3 i2 Across 13 quasi-experimental studies, mobile-assisted language learning intervention produced an overall effect size of 0.425, significantly greater than zero. → Imtiaz Hassan Taj 2016

Meta-analysis of 13 studies (2008–2015) meeting criteria of quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control-group design with mobile-device intervention; d-type and r-type effect sizes were calculated and transformed to Fisher's Z, weighted by (n-3). The article reports "Z combined was found to be 8.156" with SE = 0.0521 and 95% CI of 0.323 to 0.527.

"the overall effect size was 0.425 (ES = 0.425) which is markedly different from 0 as Z combined was found to be 8.156 which is greater than 1.96 for α = 0.05 in standard normal distribution."
