Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q3 i? A logit scale of text complexity built from children's maze-task responses showed form reliabilities from .85 to .96 and no evidence of multidimensionality by genre, ethnicity, gender, or lunch status. → J. Fitzgerald et al 2014

First substudy: 1,258 first and second graders from 10 U.S. states read a stratified random sample of 90 texts (one rejected) and completed a maze task; Rasch modeling assigned logits to the 89 texts with "reliability for the forms ranged from .85 to .96."

"From the student responses, a logit scale was created, and the 89 texts were assigned logits for text-complexity level. Cronbach’s alpha estimates of reliability for the forms ranged from .85 to .96."
