Mokken scale analysis of per-level experiment correct scores from 45 kindergartners, treating levels as items. The test-scalability coefficient H = .48 was in the moderate range, and all item scalability coefficients exceeded the .30 cut-off, supporting a unidimensional CVS scale.
"The values of the four MSA coefficients were sufficient to justify the conclusion that the model's assumptions were met. This means that the double monotonicity model held for the data collected and that content validity has been established for our version of the ramp task."
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- Second-year kindergartners outperform first-year kindergartners on CVS scores with large differences
- Most Turkish IRT-based scale development studies did not check the unidimensionality or local independence assumptions
- Both the competence test and the cognitive load ratings fit two-dimensional Rasch models significantly better than unidimensional models, supporting separate modeling of the two load dimensions
- Dynamic assessment can teach kindergartners the CVS within a single session — related
- Ramp task levels are ordered by difficulty: performance declines as the number of variables to set increases — a narrower finding that bears on this claim
