Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q2 i2 In contrast to EEG, observer ratings showed no significant difference between teacher-initiated and student-initiated activities (r = 0.11), and rated inattentiveness higher during group work (22%) than independent work (6%), r = 0.34. → Jennie K. Grammer 2021

Video-based behavioral coding of inattentive intervals by five trained coders (ICC = 0.97), analyzed with the same planned contrasts. "In contrast to neural measures" no teacher- vs student-initiated difference emerged; group work was rated more inattentive, r = 0.34.

"In contrast to neural measures, there were no observable differences in teacher-initiated relative to student-initiated activities ( b = −0.02, t(41) = −0.71, p = 0.48, r = 0.11), and attention was rated as lower during the group ( MGroup = 22%) relative to independent work (MIndependent = 6%, b = 0.08, t(41) = 2.28, p = 0.03, r = 0.34)"
