Subclaims¶
Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q3 i2 After adjustment for age, sex, BMI z-score and sleep quality, physical activity positively correlated with self-regulation (r = 0.265). → López-Gil 2020

Partial correlation analysis in a cross-sectional study of 1561 children aged 8–12 from eight low-SES public schools in Santiago, adjusted for age, sex, BMI z-score and sleep quality. Physical activity showed "PA (r = 0.265; p < 0.001)" with self-regulation.
"PA (r = 0.265; p < 0.001) and MD (r = 0.091; p = 0.030) positively correlated with SR, and ST was negatively related to this outcome (r = −0.125; p = 0.003)."
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- Screen time is negatively correlated with self-regulation in Chilean children
- Children meeting more healthy lifestyle habits show higher self-regulation — related
- Active children show higher self-regulation than inactive/high screen time peers regardless of their own screen time level — a narrower finding that bears on this claim
- Active children show higher self-regulation than inactive children, and children with under 2 h/day screen time show higher self-regulation than those with 2 h or more — related
