Phenomenological study of three female PLC leaders (Tracey, Lisa, Jacki) using stimulated-recall metacognitive interviews and member-checking. The findings section reports that "the PLC was not only an environment where metacognition could occur" but also nurtured it.
"Both of these were found to be true, as all three participants we able to recognize and describe their metacognition. In addition, however, was that the PLC was not only an environment where metacognition could occur, but that it was also an environment where metacognitive thinking could be developed or nurtured."
