Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q2 i? Comparison of A groups (double-length periods) with B groups (shorter periods), equated for initial ability, showed the short periods were certainly not much more favorable than the longer periods. → H. H. Hahn and E. L. Thorndike 1914

Comparison of long-period A groups with short-period B groups in each grade, using Tables 2 and 3 with pupils of equal initial ability selected by dropping the best adders from A groups and the worst from B groups. Advantages of the A group by the first scoring method were 8.2, 0, 1.4 and 9.8 for grades 7, 6, 5 and 4.

"On the whole we may safely say that in this experiment the short periods were certainly not much more favorable than the longer periods, the evidence, though not secure, being in favor of the longer periods."
