Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q3 i3 Both experimental groups working with the learning environment outperformed the control group on the near transfer task, with large contrast effects (d = 0.99 and d = 0.76). → Wagner et al. 2013

Experimental field study with 70 educational science students randomly assigned to three groups; 1-factorial ANOVA with a priori contrasts on the near transfer task (theoretical maximum 12 points). The contrasts favouring both experimental groups over control were large (d = 0.99 and d = 0.76), described as "significant and large effect of the learning environment".

"we found a significant and large effect of the learning environment ( F(2,67) = 4.06, p = .022, ηp² =.89, power = .70). As expected, the a-priori contrasts showed that both the experiment al group with and without elaboration intervention outperformed the control group ( t(67) = 2.77, p = .007, d = 0.99 and t (67) = 2.22, p = .03, d = 0.76)"
