Description

The article organizes eye-tracking research in education along two axes: the actor perspective studied (teacher vs. learner vs. teacher-learner interaction) and a continuum from laboratory to real-life settings. Figure 1 clusters existing research and the Special Issue articles into these boxes, showing that classic eye-tracking research sits in the learner-laboratory corner while interaction studies in real classrooms are the newest and scarcest. The authors state that existing research beyond the classic learner-laboratory box "is extremely scarce."
