Description

The article proposes a hierarchical conceptual framework (Fig. 1) for classifying attitude measures at multiple grain sizes, balancing fine-grained and global analyses. The authors "consider attitude a multidimensional construct comprising: perceived relevance (personal and societal), interest (school, leisure, career), self-efficacy, and normality of scientists", with an overall attitude construct for aggregated measures. It was used to categorize attitude instruments across the 65 experiments and to justify separate meta-analyses for specific and global outcomes.
