Description

The article adapts a counterfactual framework for time-varying treatments in which "Inverse probability of treatment (IPT) weighting is an alternative approach specifically developed to adjust for confounding by time-varying covariates." A marginal structural model specifies the logit of graduation as a function of duration-weighted exposure (the average of wave-specific quintile treatments). Weighting builds a pseudo-population in which treatment is unconfounded by measured covariates, allowing an unadjusted outcome model to yield unbiased causal effect estimates.
