Description

Multidimensional Recurrence Quantification Analysis (MdRQA) is the analytic method the article uses to quantify physiological synchrony in multivariate EDA time series. It extends cross-recurrence analysis and "can handle multivariate time series data... and is not limited to bi-variate analyses". The study focused on the %REC output, the proportion of recurrent points in phase space, and validated detected synchrony by comparing real teams' %REC against surrogate datasets created by randomizing each participant's z-scored EDA values within a group. Radius was tuned so %REC ranged from 5 to 20% for comparability across datasets.
