Description¶
ProPRL is a framework that learns prerequisite relations over ordered concept pairs in educational knowledge graphs. It learns complementary concept embeddings from a concept-resource hypergraph and a directed learning-behavior graph, using "direction-preserving personalized multi-hop propagation to aggregate multi-hop behavioral evidence". A Pair-conditioned Gate constructs view-specific representations for each candidate ordered pair and adaptively weights the two views, and an Irreversibility Constraint applies "an anti-symmetry regularizer that penalizes simultaneously highpredictionsfor(ci,cj)and(cj,ci)". Training jointly optimizes resource-aware, behavior-aware, and fused branches with a teacher-detached consistency loss.
Accounts¶
- ProPRL: a property-aware framework for prerequisite relation learning with multi-view representation, pair-conditioned gating, and an irreversibility constraint: ProPRL is a framework that learns prerequisite relations over ordered concept pairs in educational knowledge graphs. Claims¶
- ProPRL ranks first across all nine dataset–metric combinations on three prerequisite relation benchmarks, with relative improvements from 1.96% to 6.11% over the strongest baseline [+M]
- Removing any ProPRL component reduces F1 on all three datasets, with multi-hop propagation having the largest overall impact [+M]
- ProPRL incurs moderate overhead over DGCPL but remains lightweight, using under 40 MB GPU memory and under 0.18 seconds test-time inference [+W]
- ProPRL is sensitive to learning rate but comparatively insensitive to its structural hyperparameters, with propagation depth around 5 capturing most multi-hop benefit [~W]
