Description¶
Tied duration is the total time an interaction process remains actively receiving responses from the group, computed from the temporal network by aggregating active intervals from first to last uptake, after trimming idle periods. The article uses it as "a temporal measure of its relevance—an improvement over simple frequency counts", feeding weekly tied durations into model-based clustering to identify regulation patterns and into growth models. It quantifies depth of thread discussion rather than treating posts as instantaneous events.
Accounts¶
- Tied duration as a measure of uptake and relevance of regulatory processes: Tied duration is the total time an interaction process remains actively receiving responses from the group, computed from the temporal network by aggregating active intervals from first to last uptake, after trimming idle periods. The article uses it as "a temporal measure of its relevance—an improvement over simple frequency counts", feeding weekly tied durations into model-based clustering to identify regulation patterns and into growth models. It quantifies depth of thread discussion rather than treating posts as instantaneous events. (Mohammed Saqr et al. (2026))
