Description

The What Works Clearinghouse (WWC), established in 2002 by the U.S. Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences, is a long-running systematic review effort. "Through its design standards, the WWC has defined its requirements for a study to be considered causal evidence," setting expectations for study quality and execution in research on program efficacy while providing decision makers with evidence to inform choices. The framework operates by screening and reviewing studies against its standards, disposing of studies that meet standards, fail them, or are excluded for ineligible design.
