Description¶
Based on feasibility feedback, the authors recommend preparing interviewers with concise training so they can judge what counts as a morally injurious experience and use the interview's structure confidently. The results record that "Some clinicians recommended developing a brief training for interviewers, to ensure that interviewers would understand the concept and properly use the interview, while also familiarizing them with its structure." In the study, all clinicians had followed a general in-company training on moral injury and met individually with the first author before administration; clinicians compared the need to training for the CAPS.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Training content covering the moral injury concept, the PMIE definition, and the interview's structure
Constraints¶
- Clinicians indicated the training need not be long, but that understanding when a truly morally injurious experience is present is important
Target Learners¶
- clinicians and interviewers new to the CIMI-M
Target Learning Goals¶
- distinguishing genuinely morally injurious experiences from other events
- administering the CIMI-M according to its structure
Related Strategies¶
- Cimi M Clinical Interview
- Screen with the MIOS before administering the CIMI-M and deploy it at intake or before trauma treatment
