Description¶
Career Academies build relationships with local employers who support the program and provide work- and career-related activities. "Through work-based learning programs developed in collaboration with employer partners, students are placed in jobs (or a series of short-term jobs) that expose them to occupations." Employer partners contribute funds, speak in classes, supervise student interns, serve as mentors, and sit on advisory boards that guide curricular and extracurricular development, including field trips, job shadowing, and outside speakers.
