Description¶
In Stage 7 of the research model, the article recommends an interpretation sequence for complex technology integration data: "it is suggested that interpretation begins in simple terms and eventually considers the wholeness of the activity and the interactions that occur among the different elements." Interpretation should begin with basic analysis of changes between start and finish states of the subject moving toward a goal, such as changes in attitudes or measures of learning, then continue by examining relationships between other activity elements, using quantitative or qualitative techniques.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Rich CHAT data plus strong data analysis and interpretation skills
Constraints¶
- Unpacking factors that encourage temporary and sustained changes is described as a difficult process
Target Learners¶
- Researchers and evaluators of technology integration programs
Target Learning Goals¶
- Analyzing and reporting holistic activity-based research data
