Description¶
The article directs recommendations at four stakeholder groups. University leaders are encouraged to adopt "a holistic notion of education" that includes civic learning, promote curricular and extracurricular initiatives, and foster a civic campus environment by recognizing good citizenship and acting against academic dishonesty. Professors should use service-learning and take advantage of tutoring and mentoring to instill civic values; administrative and service staff can model good citizenship; students are encouraged to take personal responsibility for civic learning and to participate in university decisions and associations.
