Future research agenda: detailed BCT-coded systematic review, primary qualitative examination of patient experience, and economic analysis within trials

Description

The authors propose a three-part agenda to address gaps their metareview exposed: first, a detailed systematic review of currently available digital asthma interventions "detailing the presence or absence of BCTs"; second, examination of the primary qualitative literature on the patient perspective to inform future interventions; and third, greater emphasis on economic analysis within trials. This agenda responds to findings that interventions were poorly described, patient perspectives largely ignored, and no cost-effectiveness data existed.
