Four field-level recommendations for supporting exploratory, interdisciplinary research on emerging learning technologies¶

Description¶

Based on the thematic analysis of PI interviews, the report recommends four actions for funders and the field. The first is to "Create consistent opportunities for the field to engage in future-oriented, exploratory research across directorates and programs in directorates." The remaining recommendations are to intentionally nurture interdisciplinary research identities and researcher-practitioner partnerships; to continue uncovering processes, methods, and flows uniquely important in exploratory, interdisciplinary research; and to support coordination networks composed of researchers and practitioners to grow the field, synthesize outcomes, and amplify broader impacts.
