Requirements session in which participants directly list and rate requirements for future technology¶

Description¶
The final FTW session has the whole group produce a set of requirements for each model, described to participants as "the set of instructions they would give to an engineer who would be willing to implement the model". Participants identify the two most important requirements per model and individually rate requirements on a scale between 1 and 5, with 5 having the most importance/appeal. This yields an explicit list of requirements directly from participants rather than designer interpretations.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Preceding FTW sessions that have participants imagine, model and experience future activities and technologies
Constraints¶
Target Learners¶
- workshop participants with everyday domain knowledge
Target Learning Goals¶
- explicating requirements for future technology
Affordances¶
Claims¶
- Early FTW pilots produced only general non-functional requirements, prompting method modifications [+W]
