Individual assessment during pair work: rotating roles, separate predictions and explanations, and independently-demonstrated ratings per outcome¶
Strategy · All strategies
Evidence · no claims cited
Description¶
A proposed assessment procedure for shared-robot pair work: students alternate operating and checking roles and record contributions; at each checkpoint each submits a separate prediction and explanation; the instructor observes each student's practical task and asks a follow-up question without partner assistance. "The instructor records each outcome as independently demonstrated, demonstrated with prompting, or not yet demonstrated, with supporting evidence." Pair robot performance is recorded separately.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Table IV evidence and success criteria for each learning outcome
- Role logs documenting individual contributions
Constraints¶
- The article states this assessment procedure is proposed and remains to be evaluated
- Role logs inform collaboration assessment but do not establish understanding
Target Learners¶
- High-school students working in pairs on a shared robot
Target Learning Goals¶
- Distinguishing individual conceptual understanding from team robot performance
