Pair the AI chat with a paper worksheet that records what the chat cannot: sketches, agreed group statements and a short reflection¶
Strategy · All strategies
Evidence · no claims cited
Description¶
A concrete implementable companion to AI-facilitated inquiry: alongside the chat, students fill in a paper worksheet meant to record “what the chat cannot” — their sketch, the group's agreed statements, and a short reflection. This makes the facilitator's boundary part of the design, keeping non-verbal and socially negotiated meaning on a human, embodied channel while the AI works on the verbal one.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- The boundary of the facilitator is planned from the start and made visible to the students themselves
Constraints¶
Target Learners¶
- university students working in small groups in laboratory sessions
Target Learning Goals¶
- expressing ideas in multiple representations beyond the verbal channel
- group negotiation of shared statements and metacognitive reflection
