Pass-timing routine with four mastery criteria and repeated practice until criteria are met¶

Description¶
An implementable fluency-building routine: students do "1-minute practice readings to build their mastery of the passage" and alert the teacher when they feel they can reach their speed goal. The teacher then conducts a pass timing evaluating four criteria — goal rate reached, three or fewer errors, appropriate phrasing, and correct answers to comprehension questions. Students who do not meet the criteria practice the passage further and are timed again, cycling practice and assessment until mastery.
