Description¶
Based on the finding that performance expectancy and facilitating conditions are leading predictors of LMS acceptance, the authors recommend instructor actions. They state "it might be a good practice on the part of instructors to furnish LMSs with rich content, which in turn might contribute to student performance in class". For facilitating conditions they list preparing a manual for LMS use, having instructors explain LMS use in the first weeks of classes, offering laboratories with easy LMS access, and extending support to students having problems with LMS use.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Instructor time to develop, filter and upload useful, up-to-date materials; institutional laboratories and support structures
Constraints¶
- Recommendations arise from a single vocational-school context with limited internet access; the authors call for replication in other institutions and countries
Target Learners¶
- postsecondary vocational school students
Target Learning Goals¶
- increasing students' acceptance and use of the LMS as part of learning strategies
