Return or destroy shared education records within 60 days of the agreement's end

Description

The agreement sets a concrete retention limit: the receiving party must return, destroy, or obliterate all education records obtained under the agreement not later than 60 days after the earlier of the end of the Term, completion of the research or services, or a written destruction request from the disclosing party. Anonymized data may be retained only with written consent, and de-identified data use survives termination for FERPA-permitted purposes such as research and development. This gives education agencies an enforceable end-of-life rule for shared student data.
