Description¶

The second policy lever is to "Create statewide goals to strengthen the teacher workforce" that districts can align with and report progress against, while encouraging educator preparation programs to set recruitment and retention goals for teacher candidates of color. Arkansas is highlighted for a numeric goal to increase teachers of color in public schools by 25% by 2025 and a requirement that all districts post a recruitment and retention plan.
