Trainee-selected, program-screened and trained mentors sustained through monthly staff contact after residential programming¶
Strategy · All strategies
Evidence · no claims cited
Description¶
After the residential period, each trainee selects a mentor who is then screened and trained by the program. The mentor is supposed to meet with the trainee a minimum of four hours per month during the one-year post-residential phase, while program staff maintain at least monthly contact with the trainee and mentor. This strategy extends program support into the community transition period when dropout risk remains high.
