Weekly SRL intervention cycle pairing goal-setting forms, rehearsal videos, VideoAnt annotation, and progress reports¶
Strategy · All strategies
Evidence · no claims cited
Description¶
The intervention iterated a five-day weekly schedule: students set one to two weekly goals with a plan of action, rehearsed toward the goals while filming themselves, uploaded and annotated the videos in VideoAnt, and completed progress reports judging whether goals were met. The schedule alternated physicality and vocal development foci across remote and face-to-face days, mapping activities onto Zimmerman's three SRL phases.
Design Implications¶

- An orientation unit covering acting theory, SRL, and VideoAnt tutorials preceded the intervention
Constraints¶
- The authors recommend revisions to reduce the repetitive nature of the tasks and suggest incorporating additional SRL elements such as peer learning and motivational strategies
Target Learners¶
- secondary theatre students
Target Learning Goals¶
- monologue performance skills
- self-regulated learning behaviors
