q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

q2 i3 Experimental-group on-training performance improved from pre- to post-training in working memory (d = 2.77), phonological short-term memory (d = 1.21), selective attention (d = 1.08), and divided attention (d = 1.03). → Ockelmann 2025

GLMM analysis of experimental-group on-training app tasks (CogniFit assessment-based tasks) pre- to post-training. Improvements were significant in all four domains; working memory showed "d = 2.77", phonological short-term memory d = 1.21, selective attention d = 1.08, divided attention d = 1.03. Hearing aid use was positively associated with phonological STM and divided attention.
"Significant improvements in the experimental group’s on-training cognitive performance from pre- to post-training were observed across all four cognitive domains. Working memory performance increased robustly over time ( β = 27.92, 95% CI [14.89, 40.93], p < 0.001, d = 2.77)."

Related Claims¶
- Cognitive training gains are maintained or further enhanced at two-month follow-up — related
- Gamified personalized auditory-cognitive training improves naturalistic speech-in-noise comprehension in older adults with hearing loss relative to an active control group — related
- Off-training cognitive transfer shows gains in working memory and focused attention for the ACT group only, with no significant group-by-session interactions — related
- Lower auditory working memory capacity moderates the training benefit: participants 1 SD below the mean improve significantly more after immersive than auditory training — related
