Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q3 i3 The ADHD-I group made significantly more fearful emotion errors than the control group (p = .018), with a large effect size (d = 0.93). → Miller 2011

One-way ANOVA on DANVA fearful affect errors across three diagnostic subgroups (ADHD-I n=16, ADHD-C n=17, control n=18) in a controlled cross-sectional study of 51 adults. "Post hoc tests using Tukey's correction for multiple comparisons revealed that the ADHD-I group made significantly more errors than did the control group (p = .018)." Table 2 shows Cohen's d = 0.93 for the ADHD-I versus control contrast on fearful errors.
"Post hoc tests using Tukey's correction for multiple comparisons revealed that the ADHD-I group made significantly more errors than did the control group (p = .018)."
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- No significant differences in affect recognition errors emerged between the ADHD-Combined group and controls or between the ADHD-C and ADHD-I groups — related
- Inattentive symptoms are significantly positively correlated with fearful and vocal channel affect recognition errors — related
- Affect recognition deficits were not found unanimously across ADHD groups, suggesting a nuanced subtype-specific pattern — a broader claim this one bears on
- Inattentive symptoms are positively associated with sad affect recognition errors while hyperactive-impulsive symptoms are negatively associated — related
- The inattentive ADHD subtype has the worst learning ability score among ADHD subtypes — related
